Professional Life:

Ms. Kohnken has happily served as an Assistant Principal to the JHS 194 community since September of 2019 and learned as much about herself as she has about her students. Having taught Special Education since 2005, it is her life's work to support all learners- those who struggle, those who excel, and everyone in between. All students deserve access to the highest quality educational experience and it is her mission to support her principal, Mrs. Miller, in executing that goal!

Personal Life:

Ms. Kohnken is mom to two beautiful daughters, companion to a very energetic dog named Ruby, and wife to her incredibly hard working and loving husband, Joe. She lives on Long Island and enjoys cooking, the arts, entertaining and- most of all- spending time with loved ones.
